Newsletter #3 – Anti-Spam Filter Update

CronLab updates Anti-Spam service

The updates are available both on CronLab’s Hosted Anti-Spam Filter as well as on CronLab’s Anti-Spam Appliances.

Increased flexibility of quarantine emails

Domain administrators can now set the time they want the quarantine mails sent out, it is also possible to send these multiple times per day.

New dashboard for domain admins

Logging in as postmaster, accessing domain config from the appliance’s domain configuration tab, or accessing the domain config from our Partner Portal now gives you valuable information about mail statistics and live delivery information.

A graph shows statistics on mail flow, and below the graph there is detailed information about emails currently in-flight.

Improved robustness against protocol and network errors

The communication with remote servers have been improved to make it more robust when dealing with mis-configured networks, or broken mailservers.

Added support for Failsafe SMTP
A new option for appliance users makes it possible to configure a transport as “Failsafe SMTP”. This disables Enhanced SMTP features, and can be useful when dealing with broken E-SMTP-servers.

Default MTU changed to 1400
The MTU used by our appliances / clusters was lowered from 1500 to 1400 to make the filter handle mis-configured network equipment better.
